Online Access

What is online access?

There are many different ways you can access your medical records. We recommend the NHS app. If you have the NHS App or another application that provide a similar service (such as Patient Access) then you have online access.

Online access allows you too:

  • See test results, and GP comments on them.
  • Request repeat medication.
  • See details of upcoming appointments, with us or local hospitals/clinics.
  • Track (most) referrals. For more information on this see this page.

Can I book an appointment using online access / the NHS App?

Canbury Medical Centre has disabled our patients from being able to book appointments through the NHS app. We use a triage system to ensure all appointments are booked in with the correct clinician and in the most appropriate time frame.

If you would like to request an appointment or read more about how we offer appointments please visit our appointments page.

Getting started....

If you have yet to download the NHS App please download Canbury Medical Centres NHS App information pack. This includes information on how Canbury Medical Centre uses the NHS App and a ‘how to guide’ for getting set up.

If you are still struggling after this visit this page for more information and support.

Canbury Medical Centre is also running a in person NHS App drop-in class on Wednesday 21st of February 2024 between 12pm - 2pm on site. There is no need to book in – just turn up!

Who can use the NHS App?

In order to access the NHS App patients need to have an email address and mobile number linked to their medical record.

We offer online access to most of our patients. The only exception is children aged 11 - 16.

Proxy Access

If you are between the ages of 0 and 10, your parents can be set to view your medical record online. This type of access is called ‘Proxy access for a child’.

Once a Child is 11, proxy access is declined for parents as 11 year olds are entitled to medical confidentiality. Once a child reaches 16, they can be set up for their own online access. You can read more about this topic on our practice policy page.

If you are a parent or guardian and would like to be set up with proxy access for a child. Please download this form and return it to us with a form of ID.

Adults can also hold proxy access for other adults. This type of access is called ‘Proxy access for an Adult’. There are many reasons why this may be necessary for some patients.

For example, many of our older patients have allowed their adult children to have proxy access to allow them to place prescription requests on their behalf.

Proxy access is not given to anyone without the patient's written consent. Again, you can read more about this on our practice policy page.

If you are over 16 and would like to be set up with proxy access for another adult. Please download this form and return it to us with a form of ID.
